Dr. B K Sikka (Project Management and Agribusiness)  

Prof. Sikka is Director, Amity Institute of Horticulture Studies & Research, AMITY University, NOIDA and was former Dean, College of Agribusiness Management. Have more than three decades of experience in teaching, research and extension in agri-business, marketing, supply chain management and farm management.   Prof. Sikka handled number of projects sponsored by USAID, International Potato Centre, Lima, Peru, World Bank, ICIMOD, Nepal, Indo-German Projects, FAO and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Supervised number of students in Masters and Ph. D level courses. In addition to this, authored more than 100 research papers & research reports and published 8 books individually or jointly. 

He is member of the National Level Task Force for Cold Chain Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Co-operation (Agriculture Marketing Division), Government of India. 

Faculty from India and Course Coordinator to Cornell University, Ithaca(USA) w.e.f. Dr. K R Dhiman (Crop and Seed Expert)

Professor Dhiman was Vice Chancellor of Parmar University of Hort., and Forestry Nauni, Solan since 2008 to 2013, two terms. Since last four decades he has been working in different research Institutes as scientist. In addition, he served as Head of Central Potato Research Station, Kufri, Shimla, 2004 to 2008 and ICAR Res. Complex for NEH Region, Barapani, Meghalaya, 2002 to 2004. He also served as Joint Director ICAR Res. Complex Tripura Centre, Tripura, in 1997 to 2002. Supervised number of students in Masters and Ph. D level courses.  His research achievement are developing crops varieties such as Kufri Megha (High yielding Potato variety highly resistant to late blight of potato), NLD White (Maize variety suitable for NEH Region), Popcorn (Two popping efficient popcorn varietie.), DR-92 (A high yielding Brown rice variety), Sikkim Sarson -2/-3/-4 (Yellow Sarson varieties suitable for the region), Toria varieties-2 (early maturing toria varieties), Arhar (Pod borer resistant arhar varieties 2 number), Field pea (Powdery mildew resistant varieties two number), Boro rice (TRC boro dhan), Urd (Semi determinate varieties two number). He also developed some new technologies such as late blight indexing technique in potato, mass inoculation technique for viral diseases in potato, duplex and triplex lines for viral resistance in potato, photo-insensitive lines of rice bean, semi-determinate varieties of urd, integrated farming system models for different agro-eco-systems for sustainable production. In addition to this, published more than 200 research papers & articles in national and International journals, and published about 15 book chapters and number of technical bulletins and lectures.  


Dr. A K Agnihotri (Soil Science and GIS)

Dr. Agnihotri is a professor at Department of Soil Science, College of Agriculture G.B.P.University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar and was Senior Associate Scientist Project Coordination International Rice Research Institute, Philippines. In addition, he had served the Q&Q Research Insights as the consultant. Have more than three decades of experience in teaching and research in Soil Science and GIS and GPS.  In addition, he has worked number of projects sponsored by International Organization and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Supervised number of students in Masters and Ph. D level courses. Taught and used GIS and GPS in agriculture, precision farming, contributed in Rice Knowledge Bank of IRRI, Taught Fertilizer Technology Management, and Application of GIS and GPS to Agribusiness students, Started online courses for Ag. Professionals with APRTC, Bangkok, Facilitated online courses: Soil Fertility Management, and Responsible Pesticide Use with APRTC and Learn of Bangkok. Visited Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Nepal and Bangladesh, Afghanistan in connection of development of online courses and as resource person for imparting trainings. In addition to this, authored more than 50 research papers & research reports and published books individually or jointly. He also established the free energy of formation of chlorite mineral, the chemical formula of septa-chlorites from Lower Siwaliks, the efficacy of as-symmetrical triazines and appropriate seeds and best management practices were made available to farmers and research partners in Bihar through IRRAS project.


Dr. J N Raina (Soil  Science and Water Management)

Dr. Raina is professor and head at Department of Soil Science and Water Management, University of Horticulture and Forestry Nauni Solan HP India. Have more than 35 years experiences in teaching and research in Soil Science and Irrigation Technology.  He has also worked number of projects sponsored by International Organization and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Supervised number of students in Masters and Ph. D level courses. In addition to this, published more than 70 research papers & articles in national and International journals, and published about 15 books, book chapters and number of technical bulletins and lectures. 


Dr. Belwal (Livestock Management)     

Dr. Belwal was a professor and head at Department of Animal Science at C.C.S. Haryana Agriculture University. Have more than 25 years experiences in teaching and research in Animal Science and Livestock Management.  He has also worked as Assistant Professor, District Extension/veterinary Officer, Joint Commissioner, Advisor, and Livestock Management Specialist in number of projects sponsored by International Organization and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Supervised number of students in Masters and Ph. D level courses. Dr. Belwal is currently serving as consultant with Global AgriSystem Pvt. Ltd, India.  In addition to this, published several research papers & articles in national and International journals.                   

 

Mr.  B M Agarwal (Cold Storage and Dairy Equipments)

Mr. Agarwal has more than 35 years extensive experiences in Cold Chain, Food Processing, Infrastructure Development, Irrigation Management, Construction Management, Planning, designing and tender related work. He worked as Engineer-in-Chief of the UP Irrigation Department was overall in-charge of the Irrigation Department, U.P for administration, planning and policy matters on surface water resources management and drainage including flood control. He also worked as Chief Engineer, Government of Uttar Pradesh, was involved in operation, maintenance, construction & management of irrigation and drainage works of Ram Gange Canal System, planning, design and construction of a number of irrigation structures. Experience in training of irrigation and cold storage management staff while working in Walmi and initiated Participatory Irrigation Management. Coordinated and guided the PACT team of UPWSRP for undertaking surveys, studies, investigations and finalizations of TORs and RFPs.


Mr. S K Sharma (Project Management and Business Plans)

Mr. Sharma has worked in senior positions across the key agricultural sector organisations such as General Manager, APEDA, Additional Managing Director, National Horticulture Board, Manager Sales, Punjab Markfed and Deputy General Manager Commercial, Punjab Khand Udyog. Have specialises in Agri Infrastructure projects including Supply Chains, Wholesale Markets cum Auction Centres, Food Supply Chains and Marketing. 


Mr. V S Thakur  (Financial Management)

Mr. Thakur has MBA dgree, Cochran Fellow, with a rich experience of around 13 years in Marketing, Business Development, Financial Management and handling of projects in the public and private sector. Handled various projects related to Post Harvest Management, Market Research, agri and food processing infrastructure. Key areas of expertise are financial management, marketing, project management and implementation. Exposure of working in more than eight states in India and with international donor agencies like WB, ADB and IFC.


Ms. Bella Das (Social Scientist and Gender Specialist)

Ms. Das has Master Degree in Social Sciences and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights with a rich experience of 15 years in HRM, Gender, Woman and Children issues, capacity building . She has worked in different managerial and technical positions in different reputable organizations. Handled various projects related to women capacity building, Human Resource, Research and survey.   Ms. Das is currently serving as project coordinator with VIHAAN-GFATM project of India, where her main duties are Program Management and Development, Capacity Building and Technical Support to staff,  Team Planning and Development, External Relationships and Networking Collects, analyses, Coordinates and directs the timely flow of relevant social, economic and political information and updates, Situation analysis of women and children/fact sheets/atlas necessary recommendation for policy and program development.
